Hey ya'll, Joey from Louisiana here. Just added myself today, and a recent addition to American Granada also. Jeff, I have the pictures of ur oh so fine Silver Blue is it , Monarch as the background on my desk top. Shared it with my dad the other day too, he just grinned real big! I own a 79 Granada coupe, Powder Blue, seems to be the color, original paint, needs a new paint job badly. From the factory it had the 250, I added a 302 within the first year I got it, I saved up all my h/s graduation $ and got this car for $1,100.00 from a school teacher. It had like 93k on it. I love my baby, she's easy to work on , cheap to insure, LOL. I keep it against the approval of my family, like I'd expect them to understand. These 2 sites have brought me many hours of enjoyment, I never knew these site existed until recently. I needa get sum pics of my car taken, I got like 2 wayy back when I first got it, it doesn't look that good anymore tho =(. Can you tell me how the registry workls , where I go to do it , & so on, please. Thanks, Joey - Louisiana

Glad you like the colour of DA MERC - It's called Silver-Blue Metallic.
Well you must have figured out the Registry - I got your email a couple of hours ago. I'll hopefully get your Granada in the database in a few days. I get behind sometimes.
The point of the Registry is to document as many of these cars as possible to find out more about them......what's different, what's not. Been doing it since 2004. I enter each car into an ongoing Excel file which I can sort a million different ways to create trends.
When I first started in 2004, we had no real knowledge of the Monarch "S" and only limited knowledge of the Granada Sports Coupe and Grand Monarch Ghia. Now we know several variations of all of them. We didn't know when Ford changed the bumpers during the '77 model year from having holes on either side of the front license plate to having none.......all interesting stuff.

Hello there, just bought a '79 Versailles in Michigan, took the sellers word and his photos. Showroom condition with the exception of the headliner. Only 57,800 on the odometer. Never in the snow, never been smoked in. Still has tire inflator in trunk. A true find indeed. Saw it the day after he listed it on line and bought it outright that week.
It's black, original paint, with burgundy leather bench seat, 8 track. All as new. Even smells new.
The car is now in the Villages, FL and ready for AACA summer touring.

You'll certainly get noticed - and you'll enjoy great comfort- far better than tooling around in those golf carts. Cheers, Ralph

Hello Mr. Roblin, I am Jon Martens of Salem Or. I have just joined your forum in hopes of finding a Versailles lover in need of a reso project or a complete parts car. My father bought a 1979 Versailles in 1987 with 54,000 miles on the clock. It was in need of a heater core so we got her home and started disassembly. Halfway into the project he realized dash removal was a must and stopped. So there she sat in the shop for 9 years waiting for a heater core. Around 2000 I decided I was going to finishe the repair and give the Versailles back to my father for his birthday. Being a military man my father was very meticulous about labeling each part & placement upon disassembly. As I was the labeler during disassembly I was suprised @ how much I remembered as I started to go back together after heater core install. I finished putting her back together in about a weeks time. I was in no hurry. I was able to reinstall every nut & bolt in it's rightful home. NO left overs. I had a new top installed @ that time and tires. As we were getting ready to go to dinner on his birthday I went out back to the shop & brought the Versailles around front. I gave my dad the keys & said, " Let's take the Lincoln." He was quite pleased. My folks were very happy to be rolling in their Linclon finally. Unfortunately after sitting for so many years it developed a rear main seal leak quickly & the variable ventury carb needed work. So after about 4000 miles he parked the car again and there she sits. It has been covered but paint is disapearing and she needs full restore or donation to a good cause. She still has less than 60k on the clock. But top, tires, brakes, hoses ect.... all need replacement. I would like to find her a good home instead of junked or parted. I would love to resore but no facility or resources to do so. THANKS FOR READING!!!
