I know these arent the most exciting cars, but doesnt anyone use this site anymore?
Im a general Ford nut, I have other Fords as well... but was hoping for guys interested in these cars as well.
I guess Im pretty much alone here, I was thinking of putting a v8 in my clean old grandama car. I guess Ill look at other sites.

Tim- you are not alone.. (quote from star wars???) I don't know whether it's because of the depressed economy or what, but it seems all automotive forums have far less attendance. I like your old grand ma car.. Personally, Í'd "performance improve" that six banger. Straight sixes have been far too far discounted as desirable power plants. I have several Fords from the 70's & 80's, all with 302 s or 351s, but also have an 89 Cherokee with an in line 6, and I just love it. As I think back, I had a 67 Ford Custom with the big 6, it would pull a barn off its foundation. Also had several Mopars'slant 6 which would scoot a Dodge Dart rather impressively. For less money than conerting to a 302, you can improve on that low mileage six banger considerably. That's my opinion anyway. You have a great old car, enjoy it. Cheers, Ralph

I like the sounds of that, I never messed with a 6 before. Any ideas on where I should start with that? Yeah, since I already have a low mile motor, I think its a good idea. I'll have to look into finding tips on making it run a lil better. Thanks for the reply, I noticed that things have been slowing down. I am suprised that not too many really comment on here. I also have a 70 Ranchero , and am a member on that board, that place seems to be hopping all the time. Im hoping to find out a lil more on the monarch and fixing it up.

Tim- Are you familiar with the site-- www.fordsix.com . Worth a visit. Personally, I would upgrade the distributor. Also, do away with the air pump, if it still has it. Maybe a different air intake. You might find the improvements more rewarding than dropping a V-8 in that beauty. Cheers, Ralph
