MY ISSUE IS MY VOLTAGE REGULATOR. ITS DESIGNED FOR USE WITH INDICATOR LIGHT. I HAVE DONE ALOT OF RESEARCHED AND CONCLUDED THAT OTHER REGULATORS THAT USE AMMETERS OR VOLT METERS ARE NOT SUTIBLE FOR MY APPLICATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE INDICATOR LIGHT OPENS AND CLOSES THE FIELD SWITCH IN THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. PARTS STORE REPLACEMENTS (FACTORY DIRECT REPLACEMENT) DO NOT WORK. I HAVE PURCHASED 7 DIFFERENT REGULATORS THAT CROSS REFERENCE (E2AF-10316-AA NEG VOLTAGE REGULATOR) AND NONE HAVE WORKED. TALK TO A FORD TECH (35yrs exp) STATED THAT I MUST REV MOTOR ABOVE 1200rpms TO ACTIVATE REPLACEMENT REGULATORS. I DID THIS 7 TIMES WITH SAME RESULTS, NO CHARGE. I TOOK THE ORIGINAL AND ALL 7 AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENTS TO A COMPUTER TECH TO TELL ME THE DIFFERENCS. WELL THE 7 REPLACEMENT UNITS HAVE NO MAJOR OPERATING DIFFERENCES. EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS AND HAVE DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS. THE ORIGINAL FORD MOTORCRAFT REGULATOR THAT LEFT THE FACTORY ON THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN ALL OTHERS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ORIGINAL REPAIRED AND IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY. IM CURIOUS IF ANYONE ELSE HAVE HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THEIR CHARGING SYSTEMS OR KNOW A SIMPLE FIX FOR ME.

A lot of aftermarket electronic regulators can be sub-par. I have had good luck with some of the reproductions for Mustangs, or a Motorcraft one.
