In another thread i spoke about changing out some parts on the front end of my 77 Granada. I took the idler arm off which the rubber just about shreded in my hand. I took it down to car quest for the replacement which they had. Went to install the replacement and it DOESNT FIT!!! The part that bolts to the body fits, but the end that mounts to the Center link, the bolt and threads on my center link are too big! Are the bolt on the link ends removeable because they dont look to be. Im hoping someone has had this issue in the past and can hand down some wisdom.

They gave you the wrong part. Maybe thats for a non-p/s car? Take the old one in, also see if there are any other options they may need to 'punch in' to get the correct part.

HELP!!!

At last, i finally got the part in and the time to get her back up and on the road. The center link that connects to the idler arm, there was a metal spacer that was on the old idler arm that stayed on when i took the idler arm off. I had to jimmy the old spacer off with a torch and a flat head screw driver and from there the install was easy. I replaced the Idler Arm, Both Outer tie rod ends, and the sway bar links. Next will be the ball joints but thats at another time. I really need to get a new radiator. With the new alignment, she drives in a nice strait line with no play and best of all, no walking while in the lane!
