Looking to buy a 79 Versailles and have a few questions.
(1) Did this car have a full frame under it or is it Unibody?
(2) What is the exact wheel base in inches? Was there only one wheel base?
(3) Was an Automatic Trans with overdrive available?
If you know these facts please email me j.o.murch@gmail.com

The 1979 was the most popular year for the Versailles. Greater # of units sold. It is a ünitized"body vehicle , however to add rigidity to the body, the front & rear subframe have factory installed connectors, making it essentially a light weight full frame car. Wheel base is recorded as 109.9 inches, and is the only real wheelbase. Anyother wheel base would be aftermarket conversions. The automatic transmission is a 3 speed unit, but with a 2.47 rear axle ratio, it's not overly hard on fuel. They are a unique automobile.
