I was planning on changing shocks over the winter months while the car the '76 Granada is being stored.
I was wondering if early 1964-70 Mustang shock tower caps would fit on a Granada so that I could use Mustang shocks?
I ask since they pretty much use the same upper/lower control arms and because there is a much wider variety for shock selection when it comes to Mustangs. Also, Mavericks use the same tower caps and shocks as 1964-70 Mustangs.

For all those whom are interested in getting better performance from their GMV, '67-70 Mustang shock tower caps along with '64-70 Mustang and '70-77 Maverick shocks are the way to go.
This way, there are WAY more options for shocks than what is even available for the '71-73 Mustangs (which happen to fit GMVs).
Thus far, I ordered some nice Chrome caps and probably Edelbrock IAS. Now if I had money, QA1 and Koni would be the way to go, but I don't................

I'm happy to elect you public relations officer to the forum!!!!
Between working, running my ebay business, managing 2 websites and normal day-to-day stuff, I don't much time to get the forum 'out there' much.
Many potential posters won't leave the comfort of the old yahoo AmericanGranada forum.

Many potential posters won't leave the comfort of the old yahoo AmericanGranada forum. And that is a shame. I don't post often, unless I've got a question or something to contribute, but I visit a few times a week and really prefer this forum to Yahoo.

Many members, including myself, participate in both Forums and appreciate their existence. And, really, I can't say I have a favorite, both are good, the only difference, I've noted is that more technical/how to questions come up on the Yahoo site. That aspect seems to have been hard to develop here! Cheers, everyone- Ralph
PS - Jeff , did you ever complete the refurbishing of Da Merc.- I've been waiting to see detailed pics.

Hi, I am looking for new shocks the only one i found is the Kyb Gr-2 so what you are saying is, changing out the shock tower caps to 67-70 mustang will give you more options? Henrik, Denmark

Henrik- I see our good friend Jeff Roblin has for sale a set of front shocks- Monroe Super 500 -heavy duty performance shocks - the right fit for our GMV--- I think these would keep the front end pretty stiff & stable. Cheers, Ralph

Are the rear shocks the same from the 67-70 Mustang and the GMV? If so, Street Or Track ( www.streetortrack.com ) has a TON of suspension parts for 67-70 mustangs. In essence, could one do a full swap from GMV suspension to 67-70 Mustang, without much modification?

The Hollander Interchange indicates that only Granada/Monarch/Versailles and Maverick/Comet share the same rear shocks. (Maverick back to 1970)
