There are no '76 Monarch's in the Registry documented with a standard transmission.
5E35T535308 has a 6-200 & MT 7E35F530514 has an 8-302, 3-spd w/OD 7W35F516421 has an 8-302, 4-spd 7W35L535280 has a 6-250, 4-spd 7W35L555035 has a 6-250, 4-spd
I did not look at my 1978-80 data.

My '78 Monarch Ghia coupe was a 302 - four speed with buckets and console.
So's my '77 Granada Sport Coupe.

I don't know if you will get this since the last post was back in 2008. I had a 1976 mercury monarch 2dr coupe with a 302cid 2bbl carb and a 4spd manual trans. It wasn't a traditional 4spd but rather the gear range was 1 thru 3 then an overdrive for the 4th gear. I loved that car and it was my first one too. It was my brother inlaws car that he had bought off of the show room and my sister gave it to me in 1980 after he passed away. I would love to find one of them again and restore for memory sakes.
