Just a line to say I attempted to replace a passeger side door pull without removing the door panel! No luck even after I made a tool to do this.. But there is a guy with a 77 town car lives here who is a body man. He has said when we get a decent day he will try his luck or guide me in the panel removal...Will let you know if the replacement can be made without the panel removal Don

Hey Don-
There is not much involved in removing a door panel- a few screwdrivers- and a flat notched tool made for that and other trim removal. You can find an economy one for under $10 at many auto part stores, even Canadian tire in their "HELP"" auto section and also at Princess auto. You just basically hunt/fish for the plastic or wire anchors that push into the metal door shell.. I also use a common table fork with 4 tines with the two centre tines removed. The curve of the fork can give you leverage advantage. I believe the Versy has three large screws, one at each end of the armrest , and the third hidden behind the door handle bezel. Once off, its a matter of prying off the panel anchors from the steel shell... Oh, and be sure to have the window fully down.. Cheers, Ralph

Hi Ralph, when you undo the bolts does the armrest come off? If so the handle is easy to get at....Don

NOPE- Armrest is anchored to the door panel from the back side...and stays with the panel when you remove the panel...
Nothin 's easy, Don! Cheers, Ralph
