Well, I finally figured out the problem with the steering in my 77 Granada. The fiber disc thing where the steering column meets the linkage is preety much gone. I can move the knuckle back and forth about a half an inch on each side. How hard is this to replace. I know the part is pretty cheap from what I have heard but where can I get it and what is it called? Is this something that an amateur do it yourselfer mechanic like myself can handle? I can do anything if I have instructions or pictures this would explain why I can move the steering wheel up and down and side to side and have no feel for the road at all. I have to fix this because it is just a little unsafe ;D. Thanks for the help Micah

It's called a rag joint. Some say they are available. I haven't needed one or replaced one to give you first hand knowledge.
