Well, it's a sickness. And the market is right for some good finds and good buys. So, given the two criteria, I took the plunge and purchased car #6. This will now fill my garage and driveway completely and we're not allowed on street parking in my subdivision. So, If I want another car, I need to build a garage somewhere or sell an existing car. I purchased a 1982 Mercury Cougar XR-7 LS. It's 2,750 miles away from me on the other side of the country; and I got it for such a bargain price. Here's the ebay auction number: 160238677923 Hopefully, it'll be a nice driver to add to the collection. (Not that I drive much at all.) Anything about these Fox Cougars that I should be forewarned?

Yes - you and I share a similar sickness - only for me I'm buying relics for parts.
This week I bought 28 pairs of NOS shocks to resell, 11 vintage GM Parts Catalogs, and a '74 Mercury Comet Coupe than can't be fixed but is good for parts
BTW - car looks good - gotta pick these babies up when you can.

Nice car, James! I wanted one of these when they were new in '80.
I sure can't think of anything to be worried about with the Fox-body Cougar. You sure won't have trouble finding mechanical parts for the platform itself. And at what you paid for it.... wow, that was a steal.

James- That's a a classy rich looking ride, especially in that colour treatment, I'm very partial to the cream/offwhite/tans. Hope you enjoy it... Having been to WA and OR several times, there is no question that many of the older cars there are real prizes, seem not to suffer from atmospheric conditions if reasonably maintained. I still like your 82 LeBaron better... oK - GMV guys... I can't help it if I have a roving eye. By the way , there is NO KNOWN CURE for that sickness, although my wife threatens to find one. Cheers, Ralph
