Question for your guys who have an installed a hood scoop. I am about to install one myself. Does anyone have a pic, taken from below the hood? Have you cut a hole in the hood? if so what about the frame under the hood, did you cut that off as well? Where on the hood did you place the scoop? What kind off scoop have you used? Lot off questions Thanks Henrik, Denmark www.americangranada.dk

Henrik, I guess the question is if you want the scoop to be functional. If so, I think I'd try to get a look at how it was done on the '68-69 Fairlanes/Torinos, or '69-70 Mustangs, that used that scoop for functional ram air. Maybe you could use repro parts for those cars to make it right under the hood? The ram air ducting is probably out there in repro. Some stuff is here: www.fordramair.com/new/products/components_ra.htmThe original setup would, I think, have had molded ducting on the underside of the hood. The factory air cleaner used the standard base with a smaller lid, leaving the filter element open. There's a rubber seal between the air cleaner base and the hood ducting so the fresh air gets driven to the air cleaner. I guess if you were going to get really into engineering the project, you could set up a cable-operated, even vacuum operated door in the hood under the scoop to close the hole if it rains. That would actually be pretty cool. Seems like you need to get a really good look at some cars at Carlisle to see how they did it.
