This one needs restoration but looks solid - it's fully loaded and worth taking a look
'77 Monarch Ghia 4dr 8-302 Bumper Protection Group Light Group Magnum 500 steel styled wheels Cruise Control AM/FM Stereo Air Conditioning Power Windows Digital Clock Map Lights Power Brakes Power Steering Full Vinyl Roof
What is odd, is that this car does not have the Ghia tailights (monarch emblems on the amber), it has a hood rod, not hinges and it does not have the trunk dress-up kit. These are all items often seen on a Monarch Ghia.

Looked the pics over- some things don't add up...Garaged '77 to'05-why does vinyl roof look like an unused front porch leather chair in Savannah!!! Has been setting for a year..WHY?.The type of rust I see thru the paint scares me,I could be wrong, but I think there'd be a lot of nasty surprises in restoration. Lots of good parts though and good interior. If cheep enough and with time on one's hands, one could restore it to its former glory with a lot of sweat and several dollars.

The condition of that vinyl roof does make you wonder about the "garage kept" claim. But I got to thinking about it and maybe it's possible. The interior doesn't show much sun fade, particularly the dash panels.
The "garage rash" on the wheel opening moldings suggest an elderly driver who was pretty much parking by Braille.
I was thinking that 30 years of gas-station plastic brush car washes with harsh soap could have dried out and beaten the life out of the vinyl roof. The automatic car washes back then were pretty brutal on paint and trim. Those brushes would even scratch the heck out of the glass.

Can't say that I've seen them that late, but I may well be wrong on that. My mother's '76 Granada Ghia had the prop rod.

Gary - Maybe you're right on the hood hinges. Perhaps they were 1975-76 only.
Ralph - As far as they vinyl roof goes, if that car has been parked outside since 2005, that's almost 2yrs. A 30yr old dried out roof does not last long in the elements. I have often been surprised how quickly cars deterorate once we get them for wrecking with fading on the inside, peeling paint and peeling roofs.

My father's 77 Monarch had the hood prop and I believe Mercury used the Monarch emblem on taillights only on '75 or maybe even '76. The '77 and later brochures don't show the emblem on any trim levels.
