I am hoping someone can answer this question for me. My 1976 Monarch needs a front seat...not just the upholstery, but the springs etc. are toast. I found a 1979 Monarch at a wreckers which has surprisingly good cloth bucket seats. The colour even matches the rest of my interior. If I take the buckets, I would also want the back seat, then everything matches. But with the changes in 1977, will interior parts, such as seats fit in a 1976? And what about things like the clock, and the wood coloured panel around it. If this stuff will fit, I will have most of what I need for the interior.

The only thing that really differs on the interior between '76 & '77 is the shoulder seatbelt mounts and therfore, the style of the interior sail panels.

I knew that the '76&'77 were the same, but this parts car is a '79. It all looks the same, so I am hoping it will just be a simple switch-over, but want to be absolutely sure as the wrecker wants a fair bit for the seats.

Make sure you get the full seat tracks with the seats. As long as you have that, you should be ok. Everything should fit fine. I don't have a part number interchange on 77-80 seat tracks to verify its the same part number. I know the 75-76 seat tracks are also shared with Maverick/Comet in certain applications.

Well, that sounds good. I'm not so much concerned with the front buckets, as you say, as long as I have the tracke, I can drill some holes if I have to. But if I change the front seats to fabric ones, then I'd realy like the back seat to match (the origional is not fabric) and I think the back seats fitting correctly would be far more crucial.

Other than taking a tape measure of the seat width, I would take a look at James Kaster's site www.lincolnversailles.com In the [glow=red,2,300]Sisters[/glow] area he has posted pictures of all the Granada/Monarch dealer brochures in large images. You may be able to pick any design differences in the interior panels in the back seat that might mean differences in the seat. Like I said, the upper panels are different due different mounting of the shoulder seatbelts commencing sometime during the 1976 model year (mine has the old mounts as mine is a 9/75 build date) I do not know if any differences were made to the lower panels.

Hey, thanks, I'll have to measure things carfully. I'm at a bit of a dis-advantage as I'm in Edmonton, my Monarch is stored at my country place about 120 miles south and the parts car is about 50 miles north of here.
