So I have a 1976 Ford Granada 2 door, with a 302 and a C4 trans that would need new window glass run channels and belts. What could I use? I've been looking at the JC Whitney site but don't quite know what to choose and winter is unfortunately just around the corner... Please Help!

Below is the profile of the material you need. This is part of old material out of a parts car I carry to flea markets when I'm looking for replacement. I have replaced by LH window track but not my RH.

HEY SANTA- or give us your first name unless you WANT to be called SANTA-
I recently replaced some window channel run -- I got it on E-Bay from an outfit called Auction Autokrafters. I just check their EBay listing just now, they don't have any listed at the moment but they could have some in stock. IT IS a perfect fit- licensed by Ford-etc... Comes in ten foot length, cut to size- of course you don't get the rusting metal guide. They list it as for Mavericks 70-77; part number (ford ref) D1DZ-5421596... Paid about $35 for 2 lengths- plus shipping, around $22. You could e-mail them at ; auction @autokrafters.com. If available, you'll be happy with it. nice snug fit and easy to handle. Cheers, Ralph

That's a good price - I should get one for the RH door.

Jeff & Santa-
Obviously I didn't look thoroughly enough earlier- """akraft""" does presently have a listing for the channel run I bought , it's item 150163346542- ends in 22 hours - start bid $29.99 & shipp to CANUCK land is $23.00. Like I said, I think it's good stuff - licensed by Ford- fits well and very malleable. And that's for 2 10ft pieces. The profile is just slightly differen than what you illustrated, but it's a great fit. Maybe pounce on it!! Cheers , Ralph

The Autokrafters that's selling on eBay is the same Autokrafters that's been selling resto parts for years. Just because they're listing items on eBay doesn't mean you don't get the warranty. Here's the same item on Autokrafters' own website. $19.95 for a ten foot length of the stuff. tinyurl.com/36mo9yNot sure why you seem to be afraid of eBay - but most of us have bought and sold a lot of stuff there with good results. Sometimes it's the only place you'll see an obsolete item come along. Great resource for obsolete parts.

Wouldn't want to glue the new weatherstripping in on top of the fresh paintjob and then have the weatherstripping start cracking in a couple of years ans then having to refinish the doors.....now would I?

No Glueing involved in replacing channel runs!!!

Santa - you don't have to glue it in. It snaps into to the channel and stays put without shifting. Even the original material isn't glued into your doors.
On Ebay you shouldn't worry about warranty. Look at the feedback and ratings. If there is negative feedback - look into the details. Sometimes its the buyers who are just nut jobs. In 6 yrs I've only been screwed once on Ebay (it was a bumper and I didn't unwrap for several months - my own fault) and I've bought a lot of stuff.

This one looks the closest - I'll have to take some measurements of mine at home......it's not really correct though. I'd be more confident if it listed Maverick/Comet up to '77 in their interchange.
CRL Flexible Flocked Rubber Glass Run Channel for 1963-1967 Ford and Mercury, 1966-1971 Fairlane and Comet and 1972-1975 International Truck - 96 in long
