Hello, I was hoping to get some feedback on an idea I have. I have a pretty nice 91 T-bird with title probs due to a title loan gone bad. A friend of mine had an aunt who got a loan on this car then the company it was through fell off the face of the earth. When she couldn't register the city got on her about it ( can't have unregistered vehicle in town here, sucks..) so she just wanted it out of there. Well, two years later and It will be more time and trouble than its worth to put it on the road (legally anyways). I've seen these cars hang the hoops at the track so I know that theres potential there. After a few rudimentary measurements I think I could put the IRS under my 78 Granada project. How cool would it be to have the first and probably only IRS Granada out there? Your input would be greatly valued.Thanks.

Curb Weight
'90-97 T-bird - 3,700lbs '80 Granada 2dr - 3,200lbs
Looks like it would handle the weight all right. I guess I'd be most concerned about getting the geometry right and correct and tolerable driveshaft angles. A double yoke shaft might be good.
You'd have to find a workable gear ratio.

From my rough estimates I can get the IC (instant center) real close just by swapping rear floorpans and aft.The bird is a bit wider (about 3/4 in) but offset wheels should cover that. I think (pray) aftermarket springs are available if the originals are to harsh. I just think it would be a neat alternative. Maybe even make people stop and scratch there heads. I'd probably try to convince them it was factory and boast how much these cars were ahead of there time
