Drove by another prospect today. I first saw this car almost 3 years ago. Not sure of year, the front clip has been replaced. It sits on some commercial property about a mile from my house. They were asking 650 at the time.Seemed a little high for these neck of the woods.Road construction made them move it a few weeks ago. I drove by and something seemed amiss with the back of the car, as if someone tried to pop the trunk w/o a key. The road work kept me from getting closer. I am selling some property and stand to have a little extra folding money this weekend, a rare occurence as I have 4 kids. Told the wife about it and she didnt act like she would beat me to hard. Like I had said it was sitting for a few years. I dont know how they moved it here recently (maybe thats where the damage came from). I am so tired of seeing these cars go to the crusher. Im pretty sure this car will be mine by next week (wish me luck).

Yeah guess I need to break down and buy a digital camera. I'm definately a ford guy always have been The skylark came to me as collatoral on a car I sold my nephew. He never paid up or got me the proper paperwork on it. I've stored it long enough now to get a title on it. It is a pretty nice car for a four door. I am much more fond of 2 doors personnaly. My oldest son has expressed some interest in at and I'll do anything to keep him out of a honda. Tried to check on the car I started this post about but still couldnt get to it w/o a long walk and its been pouring rain all day.BTW gonna swap off the Galaxie Just to many irons in the fire and cant give it the attention it deserves. My heart lies with the Granada/Monarch anyway. Talk to you guys l8tr.

re: update I finally got to get in to take a look at her today. (She is rougher than I had remembered). It is a 79 Monarch according to the flyer on the dash. It was locked up tighter than a drum. That flyer was right over the vin plate (sorry Jeff). Brace yourself for the worst news. I had mentioned that I thought I saw some new damage on the back of the car. Seems somebody thought it would be cool to stack some bare rims behind it and drive up on the trunk. They smashed the heck out of it. broke both taillights bent the bumper Probably messed up the quarters. Basically everthing behind the door is probably damaged (bodywise). It didnt break the rear glass but pulled the moulding away from it. Kind of sad really. It looks to have an above average interior. It looks to have been originaly white with a still decent Maroon (dark red) Landeau top. They replaced the front header panel and passenger door with parts from a light blue donor car. They should have got the passenger door too. I dont think it could realisticaly be saved. It has quite a bit of rust through on the drivers fender and both rear quartrers. The car did had have the deluxe chrome down the sides. Did they have that in 79? I thought it in was a little better condition. Also the turn signal stalk (With wiper controls) that I need is broken. I am almost positive that this was a 6 cly. car. Even better news is that the phone # on the flyer is now disconnected. I do however know the guy that owns the property so I should be able to get in touch with the owner. It was a real bummer though; with this new damage I believe it takes her from a project to a parts car. I'm not sure what its worth but the $600 asking price (before the monster truck fiasco) is going to have to go way down before I could justify the purchase. At least it has a clean looking install on a nice din CD player. I know that w/o pics its tough but what do ya'll think she's worth assuming it still runs and drives. These cars are nonexistant here in salvage yards.

running driving with the damage you say, $250-300, buckets console, 302 8 in rear, floor shift $350 maybe $450 max.. just my opinion
try to get pics of it either way so it can be imortalised in the r.i.p section on the main sight

I'll try gonna get a dig. cam but still waiting on that money. Got put off a week. I was fit to be tied last night when I found out. I was thinking about shooting him $225. It has bench seat, and I'm almost positive its a six cylinder car. I am hurting for some V-8 motor mounts like you wouldn't believe. I'm gonna do my 78 car pretty hardcore. Stripped for weight and a mean stroker 394 windsor. My goal is to pull both front tires, street legal.

I was actually the one that submitted the original concept for the main site.

Sound like a fine idea. I know they cant all be saved. I dont know how many were lost this week. Scrap has been high here, as much as $140 a ton. I've asked a few of the local yards to inform me when these cars come in but I think that they just humor me when I give them my #. Saw one this week stacked like cordwood at a yard near where the car I started this thread resides. It looked fairly complete but "suprisingly" they didnt call, Oh well I tried. I'll try to find out more on my prospect next week till then I hope she can hang in there.
