This was spotted by Gary Simonson on Ebay (just the rear end) I contacted the seller and he (different Gary), has come out here to offer to pull parts off it as well an '80 Granada. Either way, it is the earliest production '80 Versailles I have documented. The next unit is #854.

The earliest GMV that I know of was the '81 that Tom Peterson had - it was number 30. That car was oddly optioned. Numbers this low make me wonder if cars like this could have been early production executive cars, pre-release press/magazine cars, or something like that.
Tom's '81 was a Home Office Reserve car. Maybe this Versailles will turn out to be the same thing if you do get the codes.
