hi pim,
it appears to be the same although since the column is the whole assembly i cannot see the internal parts to give a 100% confirmation.
i'm working a lot this week but hopefully i can make it there in time.
can you paypal the funds to zxtuner@hotmail.com? that way i will for sure pull the part on my next trip to the wrecking yard.

tony, you hit the nail on the head about the zx2... lots of mazda protege and mx-3 stuff will bolt in. a very underrated car.
yr zx2 w/ electrical probs?? never had that on any of the 6 zx2's i've personally owned over the years (other than a spun alternator bearing) besides the sway bars and rear disc brakes, the mx-3 seats are real nice and drop right in. they also have lower seat tracks that extend further back for more legroom.
another mx-3 part is on the v6 models - a rear lower track arm brace. it also fits the zx2.
