i am taking a trip to a self service wrecking yard on weds - if the 1976 granada i have pulled parts from is still there, i'll attempt to get the column parts you seek.
the interior color of the the junkyard car is the same as yours too...

Rob's in California, not Canada.
I believe the steering column guts are all the same. The Hollander interchange says the steering columns are all the same for automatics on the column so it will work.

hi pim,
i did not make it to the wrecking yard weds, my second job called me in for weds and thurs, and friday i am attending a funeral, so it looks like my next opportunity will be sunday.
the best bet will probably be purchasing the steering column assembly and then removing and shipping whatever parts are required.

hi pimsil - sorry for such a delay. the original car i was looking at for your parts was crushed before i got to it so i had nothing... until today. i found a 1975 4dr in rust free condition at a different self serve wrecking yard and it has the dark red colored interior as well, with the column shifter. i can get the whole column assy (steering wheel to steering box coupler) for $90.00. i can then remove the parts you need (providing you trust me enough to disassemble the column w/o damage to get to whet you need).
would you like me to buy the column? i can go back and purchase it weds next week.

Hi Zonker,... Thats very kind of you if you do that for me. And the part of that 75 ...are you 100% sure thats the same as my versailles 78? If not then it is a wast of your time and a wast of my 90$ or more. Only if you know for sure that the part will fitt into my car then I love to send you $$$ as soon as poseble. I hope you will agree and understand what I'm try to say. I'll understand that is not easy for you just to find out if the part is ok,...you can only see it when you have take it apart,...And that you can only do after you have bought the whole steering colum,...Isn't it???!!I wonder how you fix that . Mabby you know people who knows the answer. Anyway thank you so far for everything. Pim Sluiter nassaukade 144 second floor 1052 EG Amsterdam The Netherlands.

hi pimsil,
i am making a wrecking yard trip tomorrow (monday). hopefully you see this and reply before then. i do not want to invest into the column unless i can get payment in advance. you can trust me to do the right thing (i am a kaas-kopp too), i own an internet website zxtuner.com and if you check any of my feedbacks you'll see i am legit.
regarding fitment and quality: i can purchase insurance from the wrecking yard for the part, it usually runs another $15 or so. that will allow me to get a replacement part only (not a refund). i am not sure what they do if there is no replacement part however.
the parts appear to be the same, but i do have a question... is your steering column a tilt or a fixed column? that might make a fitment difference. if it is the same (tilt or non-tilt) an educated guess tells me it's a very high probability the parts will work and be correct since most interior mechanical parts are swappable.

i did go to the yard yesterday and pulled my usual stuff - i did see 3 zx2's in the yard
tony, do you have a zx2? or did you notice my website...
i go to yards and pick up valve covers, 19 and 21mm rear sway bars, and rear disc brake asemblies for retrofitting to zx2's.
i didn't touch the granada, but it is still there and pimsil it sounds like we have a match. this granada was w/o tilt as well.
