Well,..we find out that it's not the lever but the big sort of ring inside the steering collum, first we must park the car(lincoln versaille '78) in the garage and then we take the stiring collum apart so that we can make photos of the part that is broken and I'll putt it on this side so then its more clear what part I need to fix it. Thanks to everybody so far for the respons. And I hope as soon I have good photos of the broken part that someone will say;....Hi ,...I have the part your looking for! Greetings from Amsterdam. Pim. pimensil@msn.com Nassaukade 144 second floor 1052 EG Amsterdam the Netherlands, europe. thanks.

Hi Jeff,... Thanks for the optimistic answer. In a view days I have the photos of the broken part. The car is in a garage were they are able to fix usa cars. Its a problem to find a meganic who can fix usa cars in holland. Always when the car goes into a garage he is more broken then before, they broke my breakcilinder twice and more things. But since 1 year I found one good meganic. Because he is very bizzy right now I must wait 2 or 3 days and then he take the steering collum appart. I hope very much that it will be clear to you when I send the photos ,and that you know what part I need. And that you will find It too. Thanks again so far and we keep in touch. Amsterdam. Pim.

That Eldorado is quite a beast. The handling of the Versailles would be a night and day difference to that 501V8 front wheel drive monster!
I drove a '73 Toronodo with a 455 V8 front wheel drive so I know how it handles.

This is NOT the right part- The E-Bay part is the ignition key housing, and it remains stationary on the column. So , Dutchy, keep looking... sooner or later, it will happen. Cheers, Ralph
