Prior to Minaker's Auto Parts crushing all their cars last year, fellow Monarch owner Benjamin Keevil and I spent the day out there documenting cars for the Registry. Here's one that we couldn't get........ The dashpad was gone, the door sticker was partially painted over and no buildsheet could be found in the trunk ( I think the carpet was gone). We didn't have tools to unbolt the back seat. It is either a 75 or 76. I don't even know what plant it was built in. All we could get off the door was 81L216662. Maybe someday, if I identify enough cars, I'll figure it out.

Looks like a shame. Is that trick Photograghy or does that grill have F O R D molded on top?

Actually it's a mismatch of parts. 1975 and early 1976 Granadas had the F O R D letters pressed into the header panels. Late 1976 and 1977s have it stamped on the grille.
This car has likely had a replaced grille in its life.

Upholstery is the Standard style which means 76 or 77. And it's possible the factory (whichever factory it was) ran out of plain grilles before it ran out of pre-drilled header panels, hence the Department of Redundancy Department front end ID. Such things were not unheard of in Detroit in the 1970's.
