I have a 1977 Ford 302 Motor (Carburated) 2BBL that has been leaking oil out of the front seal behind the distributor and rear seal on the intake. My question is how horrible is it go do an intake on a 302. I understand the engine is 33 years old and the gaskets going into the heads will probably be fun but can it be done in a yard or is that something that a shop should really do. I have rebuilt parts on engines but never the intake. Just seeing what im getting myself into before i actually get into it.
Cant get the intake coolant runners to seal right, when i fill the radiator BAM! instant coolant leakage. It didnt leak before i just changed it because behind the distributor the intake cork seal was leaking oil. Any ideas or best practices?
